1Unboxing & Inspection

  • Carefully remove the machine from packaging
  • Check for any visible damage during shipping
  • Verify all components: drum, motor, rubber fingers, bearings
  • Ensure accessories are included (washers, bolts, user manual)

2Placement & Setup

  • Place on a stable, level surface (concrete floor preferred)
  • Ensure adequate space around machine (3 feet clearance)
  • Position near water source for easy cleaning
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture

3Electrical Connection

  • Verify power supply: 220V single phase, 50Hz
  • Use appropriate circuit breaker (16A recommended)
  • Ensure proper earthing/grounding for safety
  • Test motor rotation direction (should spin counterclockwise)

4First Use

  • Run machine empty for 30 seconds to check operation
  • Test with water spray to verify waterproofing
  • Start with 1-2 chickens to familiarize yourself

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Motor not starting / No power

Possible Causes:

  • Power supply issue - check circuit breaker and connections
  • Loose motor connections - tighten terminal screws
  • Faulty capacitor (in single phase motors) - needs replacement

Solution: Verify power supply with multimeter. If motor still doesn't start, call our support team.

Incomplete feather removal / Poor performance

Possible Causes:

  • Worn rubber fingers - replace if damaged or aged
  • Birds not properly scalded before processing
  • Overloading drum - process 3-4 chickens max at once
  • Insufficient water spray during operation

Solution: Inspect rubber fingers for wear. Ensure birds are scalded at 60-65°C for 30-60 seconds before defeathering.

Excessive vibration / Noise

Possible Causes:

  • Uneven floor surface - machine not level
  • Worn or damaged bearings - needs replacement
  • Loose mounting bolts - tighten all fasteners
  • Foreign object stuck in drum

Solution: Level the machine properly. Check and replace bearings if grinding noise is present.

Water leaking / Motor getting wet

Possible Causes:

  • Worn bearing seals - replace with waterproof bearings
  • Excessive water pressure during cleaning
  • Damaged drum seals or gaskets

Solution: Replace with HKGN genuine waterproof bearings. Avoid direct high-pressure water on motor housing.
